This is the end.
Okay, it has been decided that this blog site will be no more.
I will be posting (both travel posts and general life posts) soley on our site :
www.dreamalittledream.ca
And even more exciting… that site is getting a make over! So stay tuned on it for the grand reveal in the next few days or so!
I might trash this…
On the weekend Scott suggested that I trash this blog site and just make all my posts on our dreamalittledream.ca site. (DALD)
We had originally said we wanted to keep DALD’s posts only related to traveling and the trip. Which is why I created this off shoot blog. But now we are starting to think different….
Maybe including more things about our personal life will interest a greater audience, and a greater audience means our dreams for DALD have a higher chance to come true.
Is the life of DVS outside of our round the world trip interesting enough to more then just our friends and family?
Hmm….
It’s in the blood
I slightly sprained my ankle last night while walking with Scott and Alex trying to find a place to stop for dinner. Unsure how I managed to do it.. but it happened. Least it’s not that bad and already feels way better then last night. *knock on wood*
stale cookies
I think the cookies I’m eating are stale. But the nourishment of them to give me some energy is still there. I found them in my desk drawer. Might be why they are stale…
I’m having one of those days where I’m tired before I even get to work.
To make matters even better the project I’m given is SO boring I have the hardest time to stay awake while working on it.
I have to do one of two things to keep myself awake.
A) Eat snacks.
B) Facebook or other random pass some time internet site
Hmmm… Looks like I’m currently doing both.
not much to ramble
It’s friday and I have successfully got through my first full week back at work! Even to the point that I’m surprised it’s already friday. I also came out victorious and cooked dinner every night this week except for wednesday when we went out to the pub with some new friends. (lots of beer was consumed!)
Scott has been really busy at work with the new iphone and thus getting home pretty late. I have dinner ready and we then relax a bit and go to bed.
However, the state of our kitchen all week has been a disaster zone! Scott is actually the one that usually cleans the kitchen. I tidy up and organize things real good. But when it comes to things like the kitchen it takes me decades to complete the job. Where as Scott is quick and efficient at it!
So, I clean the kitchen when I get home, and then cook dinner. Which results in a new mess. Repeat this process the next day and so forth.
Anyways… aside from wishing I was still on vacation and starting to stress about these next 4 months of the busy go go go of getting prepared for our trip. I’m feeling pretty good! To the point that I’m actually singing silly songs to Scott. I hope he enjoys them….
Now all it has to do is STOP RAINING! Geez. It’s August and it’s cold. We have even turned our fireplace on once or twice!
Celebration of Life

What a vacation. It makes me get teary eye just thinking about all the great times I had with my husband and friends and within my own self. I want to go back. Forever. I want those feelings and moments to be there everyday. If only the world was Shambhala everyday.

And not only Shambhala… but just the energy that is in the air out there in the mountains. I felt so at peace with myself out there. Camping after Shambhala and enjoying the pure beauty of this beautiful province I choose to live in. The further away we drove from the mountains to home to more I felt off. I was happy to be back in the place my husband and I created as our home, with my cats that give me pure unconditional love, and of course the comforts of my own bed.
I now sit here on my first day back to the daily grind. In a place I have no care to be here for anymore. Tired, worn out, and drained. I don’t even think a vacation from my vacation would help with that feeling. Coming back to work for the “man” sucks. Period.
I plan to try and take what I learned from Shambhala this year and apply it to my everyday. Really this is something I learn from it every year…. but it’s really strong this year because of the perfection that I felt dancing, surrounded by my best friends, ears vibrating from sick sick sounds, and the warmth of my husbands hugs and kisses. I have danced many times in various places and have felt amazing but not once have I felt something so positively strong on the inside of my soul that I did every single Shambhala night of 2008. I can’t express this enough. This was the best Shambhala ever.
I can already feel the harsh reality of this world trying to bring me down. Making it feel impossible to keep the Shambhala spirit I created for myself to stay with me everyday. I must prevail against that. Celebrate life everyday.

On the road to Shambhala
Well, this shall be my last post until we are back from our Shambhala vacation!
Truck is all packed and yet again it’s FULL. lol. Oh well it’s supplies for 2 weeks of camping in the mountains (which means clothes for ALL weather types), plus Shambhalaesque stuff (ninja swords, fun fabrics, hover disc, magna doodle etc etc… you know… the norm!) And we also have our bikes!
Still have some last minute things to grab after work. (but really when is there never last minute stuff??) Have dinner with my Dad, get in a nap/sleep and wake up to be on the road for late late tonight.
Looking forward to helping with the final setup of The Village. It feels good to be able to offer something back to a place I cherish so much.
We are back sometime around the 16th – 17th.
To everyone going this year…. SEE YOU THERE!!!! =)
Preparations and Explosions
Last night Scott and I did some shopping for supplies needed for Shambhala. Things like headlamps, carabiners, new bulb for the lantern and we got an L.E.D upgrade for our mini maglite! Didn’t know they even had those. Neat!
We had a grocery/drug store shopping list too and got into the Safeway only to leave everything behind as we decided it be better for our pocket books if I did the shopping at SuperStore. (which I will have to do today on my way home)
Last stop was the liquor store. Which wasn’t very successful. We got some Heineken Mini Kegs and a bottle of gin. But they didn’t have GrassHopper in cans. Only bottles. We decided to try to find it in cans rather then settling for Alexander’s Keiths. It’s good but not as good as a Grasshopper!
We then rode our bikes down to the fireworks. It was China’s night to shine. Strapped our new headlamps to the bikes and just rode our bikes down the hill. So much better then walking!! It was fun to whiz past the crowds. Arrived, got some Kettle Corn and sat down just in time for the show to start. It was pretty good. The finale was just spectacular!
Rode our bikes back on some back routes through parking lots etc and beat the sea of people. Riding our bikes for something like that was for sure the way to go!
Tonight we pack up all of our stuff. Yikes! 2 weeks of camping gear which includes a Shambhala….
I can already predict this is going to be yet another late night….
Summer Life
This summer has been pretty great so far. Scott and I have made the effort to take more time enjoying Vancouver as last summer for some reason we never really got the chance.
We have spent lots of time walking around, riding our bikes, enjoying the trendy neighborhoods, drinking on patios and relaxing in different parks/beaches around the city. To top it all off the weather finally turned fantastic!
I also went house-boating for Chrystal’s Stagette. We all had a great time… all the way down to the point of witnessing fireworks shooting out of an inflatable sheep’s ass.
Over the Canada Day long weekend Scott and I drove up to Salmo to go help out with the setup of The Village stage for Shambhala. It was so wicked to be there when it wasn’t Shambhala happening. During the day we relaxed by the river to keep cool and in the late afternoon to late evening we worked on the stage.
We just recently got back from Calgary. We were there for Brent and Chrystal’s wedding. They had a 1870′s theme to it and it was just beautiful, very unique and tons of fun!
This friday we leave again for Shambhala to help with stage setup at The Village. We can’t wait but in result have a ton of preparing to do this week! The actual festival starts next friday.
And so it begins once again
Hey guys!
As many of you know Scott and I are building a website for our RTW (round the world) trip next year. We plan to keep all of our blog posts for that site related to the trip and traveling in general.
So for anything that doesn’t fit with traveling that I want to share shall be here.
Thus I bring you….
Dreams and Rambles of Dee
Enjoy!
